TEHRAN (ISNA) – Persian carpets designs are to be kept in a special registry in the near future.

Relevant officials have claimed they are going to register designs that are used for weaving Persian carpets in different parts of the country to protect them from being destroyed or misapplied by foreigners.

"Iranian artisans are concerned about preserving their artistic works; therefore they want research works to be done, and we are to register these works," said an informed official.
